México.- El galardón que reconoce la excelencia en la industria televisiva estadounidense y que es considerado como el Oscar de la pantalla chica será entregado este domingo 23 de septiembre a partir de las 7p.m.
El comediante y conductor Jimmy Kimmel, ganador de un Daytime Emmy y nominado este año por su programa Jimmy Kimmel Live, será el anfitrión de esta velada, que tendrá un pre-show con el recorrido por la alfombra roja de todas las estrellas desde las 6 p.m.
Entre los aspirantes se encuentran varios ganadores en anteriores ediciones, como Mad Men, The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, 30 Rock, Nurse Jackie, Saturday Night Live, Desperate Housewives, Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones y Dexter, entre otros.
En el lote de debutantes se destacan Homeland, New Girl, House of Lies, Downton Abbey y Hemingway & Gellhorn. Párrafo aparte para la miniserie Hatfields & McCoys, que en 2013 se emitirá por el canal Space y que se alzó con 16 nominaciones.
El año pasado, Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) y Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly) fueron merecedores de respectivos premios por sus programas. En esta nueva edición los dos repiten sus nominaciones. Además, McCarthy suma otra candidatura por su participación en Saturday Night Live.
Otra serie que participará de esta edición es la multinominada Two and a Half Men, show que recibió una nueva nominación para Jon Cryer, a mejor actor principal de comedia, y otra para Kathy Bates, como mejor actriz invitada de comedia, además de 2 por rubros técnicos. The Big Bang Theory, en tanto, suma a la nominación de Parsons la de Mayim Bialik como mejor actriz secundaria de comedia, por lo que junto a los rubros técnicos la serie cosecha 5 aspiraciones.
Los Premios Emmy son presentados por La Academia de Artes y Ciencias de la Televisión (Academy of Television Arts & Sciences), La Academia Nacional de Artes y Ciencias de la Televisión (National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences) y La Academia Internacional de Artes y Ciencias de la Televisión (International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences).
La entrega de los Premios Emmy 2012 será transmitida para toda Latinoamérica en vivo y en exclusiva para la TV cable por Warner Channel, este domingo 23 de septiembre a partir de las 7p.m. con pre-show a partir de las 6 p.m. El evento se repetirá por la pantalla del canal el lunes 24 de septiembre a las 5 p.m.
